Recent terrorist attacks on Paris continue to have negatively impact the city. Attendance at some of the city's museums, including the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay have fallen - 7% from the previous year to 8.7 million visits and down 1% to 3.4 million respectively.
The 2015 figures site that a major factor for the decline are the cancellations or thousands of class trips from schools in the city and suburbs.
The institutions were also closed by executive order the weekend of the November attacks.
Despite lower attendees, the last few days of the year proved promising to Musee d'Orsay with the visitors up at a normal (14,000/day) level.
