museum of anthropology, vancouver bc

For those of you who attended FUSE last night at the Vancouver ARt Gallery, you probably noticed something - the turn-out was amazing!!! The line up at 9 pm was at least 100 people long, even for members! Trust me, I kind of wish I had dressed a little warmer. I honestly think there were more people waiting to get in than there were around the front of the art gallery for occupy vancouver.
As a Young Associates member, I was pleased that once I actually made it into the venue, I was escorted directly to the entrance to the main gallery and was able to bypass the line for tickets. not waiting in that massive line is almost worth the price of membership right there. I was also given a program which listed the schedule of events taking place throughout the night.
Currently on view are works from the Audain Collection - and what a great collection indeed! The depth of the art from emerging and established british columbian artists was fantastic, not to mention the amazing pieces by northwest coast native artists. if you missed FUSE then make sure you don't miss out on seeing this collection.
