I arrived at work this morning to the phone ringing off the hook, numerous emails, and a to-do list as long as my arm. Happy Valentine's Day, right?
A man walked into the gallery and stood in awe in front of a large Jack Bush painting hanging out front. I approached him and asked if he’d ever visited us before. He said no, and I went on to explain that The Art Emporium was the oldest gallery west of Toronto, going on to tell him a bit about who we are.

I remember the first time I felt like art ever really spoke to me. I was in an art history class in college, and was assigned to do a presentation on henri cartier-bresson. I had never seen images, painting or photography which I felt captured the essence of the individuals as well as cartier-bresson's stunning photographs. This past weekend i attended splash, the annual gala thrown by arts umbrella to support their multi-disciplinary arts school. with one well known location on granville island in Vancouver, and two more being established in surrey this year, their fundraising effort was in full swing.
the event took place at performance works on Granville island. The venue was gorgeous, and filled with lively party-goers, live performances, and plenty of art.
