What is the hot spot?
The hot spot is essentially an advertisement for one event or profile which appears on most pages of our website. There is a link on the ad which takes people directly to the page for the event.
Who can be featured in the hot spot?
Anyone with a profile, other than an art lover, can apply to have their event or profile featured in the hot spot.
How can my event get featured?
click on the "advertise" tab at the bottom of any page. read over the nitty gritty on the "advertise with us" page and click the "book now" button. select the year, month and week number (as listed in the calendar at the bottom of the page) and choose the link you would like people to be directed to when clicking on your advertisement. mark your availability and upload the image you want displayed in the hot spot. click the "submit" button.
what do the two options next to "availability" mean?
select “this week or bust” if no other week is suitable for your ad to appear in the hot spot. but, if you’re a little more flexible let us know by choosing “anytime within the month”. That way we will consider your application for every week during your chosen month.
what are the dimensions for the image?
the image must be 175 x 300 px and can include pictures, logos and text.
How much does it cost to be in the hot spot?
applying is always free, but hearing from us isn’t – that'll be $75 please.
how do i find out if i've been chosen?
if you’re selected you will receive an email and PayPal invoice for $75, plus tax. successful applicants will be notified by the beginning of the week prior to the appearance in the hot spot.
i was selected for the hot spot - now what?
you will have until thursday at 12pm pst to pay your invoice in full on paypal. failure to pay on time will result in you loosing your spot.
do i need to have a paypal account to pay my invoice?
no, you can pay with your credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover) without having a PayPal account.

due to the number of applicants, we may not be able to get you into the week you’ve chosen. we try to show a range of profile types and styles. you can increase your chances by selecting "anytime within the month" as your availability.
