what is a museum?
in short - a museum is a public institution that does not sell art. museums can exist online.

what is the difference between a museum and a gallery?
the main difference is that galleries are commercial organizations with works for sale. museums rarely, if ever, sell art. however, it is up to the organization creating the profile to decide which category they fall under.
