National museums get extra $15M

Ottawa-area national museums will split $15 million in extra federal funding to help address budget shortfalls this year.
Heritage Minister James Moore and Infrastructure Minister John Baird made the announcement Thursday at the Canadian War Museum, which will have access to a $6.3-million share earmarked for the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corp. The corporation runs both its namesake in Gatineau, Que., and the war museum in Ottawa.
