The Storyboard Label is a community driven arts initiative whose main objective is to bring
together creative individuals working towards a common goal. It is all too common to see a great band without a label or artist without proper representation to simply fall by the wayside due to insufficient support or resources to achieve their short term ambitions. We took a look around us at our friends, peers, and community at large and found quite simply that amongst all these wonderful and talented people, all the pieces of the puzzle to bring different projects to fruition were there. We love seeing a band get their record made, book a tour, and play outside their home town. We love seeing an artist get a show, make a zine or book, and sell their work. Most of all we love seeing people help each other out in small
ways to make those things happen. We’re here to facilitate that process.
Storyboard began releasing records in 2005 in Montreal QC. Over the first four years, artists such as Quest For Fire, Ladyhawk, Bend Sinister, People for Audio, Spider, and Maxime Rioux released their albums through the label. In that time the label produced a number of art shows and performance events at alternative spaces throughout Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and New York City.
In 2008 operations moved to Vancouver, BC, where some time would be spent digging our heels in deep and regrouping. Now in 2011 some exciting projects are on the horizon including three new records by
great Vancouver-based bands as well as the launch of a new Storyboard initiative, Picture Book, which will cover all visual art productions including exhibitions, book publishing, limited
edition art print production, and anything else we dream up along the way...

"What an amazing site! Just what we have needed. I am an arts professional working in multiple venues - education, commercial, non-profit, art practice. I see many diverse resources coming together here without the stigma of site agendas. Nice work!"
